The former farm, called Horta do Rossio do Pinheiro ( means the garden at the square of the pine tree) is located in the hills of the Alentejo, at the edge and within walking distance of the village of Alcáçovas. Casa do Forno is an large side wing, directly connected to the main house, but with a lot of privacy and an own terrace.
Casa do Forno is a former kiln house that was converted into a comfortable holiday accommodation. The house has its own entrance and a private terrace. The layout: a separate kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, a spacious bathroom with double sink and shower. It’s very spacious with its 96m2 surface and suitable for 4 to 5 persons. There is internet (WiFi) and satellite TV.
Near the house is a small swimming pool, formerly a wash basin, suitable for adults and children to cool off in, playing and splashing around during the hottest days. There is also a large communal terrace with a pergola covered with grapes and an outdoor oven. Parking is on site.
Around the house are olive- and citrus trees, among others on a 3 acre large property. The centre of the village is within walking distance (5 min) and has a grocery store and many other amenities. It is an area that’s rich in birds and one can hear (sometimes) friendly sounds of bells, caused by sheep, goats or cows from the fields around the house.
Inside is a lot of space.
Two separate bedrooms and one coach that can be converted in a bed. There is also a cot and a chair for a small one.
The living room, with dining table and sofa’s. For the early and late season there is a wood stove.
There is no airco, but the house is well insulated and half build in the hill. So it fits the warm climate. In the evening there is mostly wind and at night it cools down, so that everyone can sleep very well. The beds are quit new and off high quality.
The kitchen includes a washing machine. There’s hot water from the sun. If this isn’t enough there’s extra energy for hot water.
Complete bathroom with shower.
